Clothbund Penguin Classics

For once I won’t go on about my love for Supernatural. No, I will tell you how I fell in love with these:

I love the classics and I’m itching to get my hands on those. They are so pretty and I’m in love. It was a coincidence I found them. I was just googling to find some stuff I could use for my blog at work. Due to some rights and policy I couldn’t use them as pictures there, but on my private blog I can.

Both pictures are from the clothbound edition by Penguin Classics.

Unicorns Do Not Exist!

Dean: Well, little odd yes, supernatural maybe. But angels? I don’t think so.

Sam: Why not?

Dean: ‘Cuz there’s no such thing, Sam.

Sam: Dean, there’s ten times as much lore about angels as there is about anything else we’ve ever hunted.

Dean: Yeah, you know what? There’s a ton of lore on unicorns too.
In fact, I hear that they, they ride on silver moonbeams, and they
shoot rainbows out of their ass.

Sam: Wait, there’s no such thing as unicorns?

Dean and Sam Winchester, 2.13 Houses of the Holy

In the above Sam and Dean established that unicorns don’t exist. Then this happen in Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie (7×14)

One man is killed when impaled by a unicorn. An employee of the chain (which the episode is named after) used magic to kill the children’s parents with a manifestation of their children’s fear. This technically means that unicorns don’t exist in the world of Supernatural, but I couldn’t help chuckling when I saw this and made the connection to Houses of the Holy.

Maybe that’s the reason why Dean didn’t see the connection when the police officer tells him that they found hoof prints and a hole in a wall where the man was impaled. It’s only when they see a picture that the man’s son drew later in the episode that Sam and Dean figures out it is indeed a unicorn that killed the poor man.
